PSYC 644 - Theories and Techniques of Psychotherapy

Instructional Method: Three hours lecture.
Prerequisites: Admission into the Master of Science in Clinical Psychology program or by permission of the instructor.
This course provides a foundational understanding of psychotherapy theories, emphasizing their philosophical underpinnings and clinical applications. Students will gain practical experience by applying basic techniques through simulated role-plays and case studies. The course also addresses critical issues in clinical psychology, including professional ethics, cultural competence, and the impact of social factors on mental health.
